Kultura at Tradisyon ng Ilocos Sur; Kannawidan Festival

''Sure Ilocos Sur!''

In Vigan, Ilocos Sur, the Kannawidan Festival is the primary event. In fact, the word "kannawidan" comes from the Ilocano language and meaning "heritage" or "tradition." It is celebrated for six days. It was established to strengthen Ilocano culture, to honor Ilocanos who have given honor to the province of Ilocos Sur, to commemorate the current year's bountiful crop, and to honor the spirit and culture of IlocosSur.

Every year, a variety of festivals are organized. It showcases Ilocos Sur's products, the fruits of a plentiful harvest, gorgeous buildings and tourist sites, the fruits of Ilocano art in art, music, design, and dance, as well as the region's traditional cuisine. Farmers' agricultural goods and pets were also a source of contention. A culinary and trade expo has also been opened to the public, which will exhibit each municipality's proud "OTOP," or "one town, one product."

This event celebrates Ilocos Sur's culture, history, tradition, and spirit. Following the opening of the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival in the province of Ilocos Sur, the public was once again exposed to the Ilocanos' unique customs and traditions. It includes a variety of racial games and tribe ceremonies from the province's upland communities. Its goal is to enrich the youth's memories and ensure that they are passed down to future generations.
